Academic Eligibility for Admission to Undergraduate Programs

BSc in Computer Science & Engineering

General Students:

Students having a minimum GPA of 2.50 in both Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) separately, or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC) from the science group must obtain at least a "C" grade in Physics and Mathematics to be eligible for admission.

For Diploma Holders:

Students with a minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and Diploma from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) may apply for admission or a combined GPA of 6.00 (not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or Diploma).

English Medium Students:

Students completing GCE O-Levels and A-Levels: O-Levels in five subjects with a minimum Average Grade Point of 2.50 and A-Levels in two subjects with a minimum Average Grade Point of 2.00. Only one ‘E’ Grade is acceptable in A-Levels. Students must have Math with a minimum C grade in A Level. (Scale A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1).

Foreign Students:

Foreign students must have a minimum of 50% marks in grades 10 and 12 (they must have the equivalent certificate from the Ministry of Education).

Freedom Fighter Quota:

General Students:

Students with a minimum GPA of 2.00 in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), separately from any group, may apply for admission.

For Diploma Holders:

Students with a minimum GPA of 2.00 in both SSC and a Diploma from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) in textile-related technology may apply for admission to the FDT (Eve) program.

Academic Eligibility for Admission to Postgraduate Programs

MSc in Computer Science & Engineering

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or a GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students who have completed a BSc degree with a strong background in Physics and Mathematics from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BSc in CSE, CIS, CS, CSIT, BIT, EEE, and ETE degree.

MSc in Mathematics

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or a GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students who have completed a BSc (Hon’s) in Mathematics from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BSc (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

MSc in Physics

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or a GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students who have completed a BSc (Hon’s) in Physics from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.0) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BSc (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or a GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.0 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students who have completed their graduation from any group like BBA, B.Com Hon's, BA, BSc, M.Com, MA, MSc, MBBS, or any equivalent background must have a CGPA of at least 2.00 at the undergraduate level.
  • Note: Four-year Bachelor's Degree BBA students are eligible for a one-year MBA program & students from other backgrounds are eligible for a 2-year MBA program.

MBA in Apparel Merchandising & Fashion Management

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.00 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 4.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students completing a BSc (Hon’s) FDT, Textile from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BA/BSc/BSS/B.Com (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

MA in English Literature

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students completing a BA (Hon’s) English from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BA/BSc/BSS/B.Com (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

MA in English Language Teaching (ELT)

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students completing a BA (Hon’s) in English from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.0) for admission to a 1-year duration program.

MA in Bangla

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students completing a BA (Hon’s) Bangla from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BA/BSc/BSS/B.Com (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

LLM

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students completing an LL.B (Hon’s) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the LL.B (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

MA in Islamic Studies

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students completing a BA (Hon’s) IS from a university or an accredited institution of higher education must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.0) for admission to a 1-year program.
  • 3. The applicant must have a CGPA of 2.00 or above (on a scale of 4.00) in the BA/BSc/BSS/B.Com (Pass) from a university or an accredited institution of higher education for admission to a 2-year program.

BEd

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students having graduated from any group like BA (Pass), BSc, BBA, BBS, B.Com, Hon's, or any equivalent background. A CGPA of at least 2.00 or passing the undergraduate program.

MEd

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students having graduated from any group like BA (Pass), BSc, BBA, BSS, B.Com, Hon's, or any equivalent background. A CGPA of at least 2.00 or passing the undergraduate program.
  • 3. Students must have a B.Ed professional degree.

BPEd

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students having graduated from any group like BA (Pass), BSc, BBA, BSS, B.Com, Hon's, or any equivalent background. A CGPA of at least 2.00 or passing the undergraduate program.

MPEd

  • 1. Students must have at least a second division or GPA of 2.50 in SSC and HSC or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC).
  • 2. Students having graduated from any group like BA (Pass), BSc, BBA, BSS, B.Com, Hon's, or any equivalent background. A CGPA of at least 2.00 or passing the undergraduate program.
  • 3. Students must have a BPEd professional degree.
